Originally a water Gothic castle dating back to the 13th century, after the Neo-Gothic reconstructions it became a magnificent castle residence of the Löwenstein family. The dominant feature is the Gothic tower, whose 30-metre high gallery serves as a lookout point and is part of the sightseeing circuit. Unique are the halls with a vaulted ceiling from the early 16th century.
