Town Hall

Masarykovo nám. 100
Uherský Brod, 688 01

The 15th-century late-Gothic building, reconstructed in the Renaissance and Baroque styles, is a dominant feature of public life and architecture in the town. The tower is 35 metres high, with the statue of Justice on the top. The interesting tower clock, by clockmaker František Lang, later received an addition in the statue of a black boy who, according to legend, saved the town from an attack by Turkish kurucs in the 17th century. A vast space under the front of the building is part of the system of passages under the centre of the old town. On view in the interior is also a unique astronomical clock by Vilibald Růžička, a native of Uherský Brod.
